New cover songs released, and things to come....

Hey folks. It's been a while. How have things been going for you? Like many of you, we happen to be damn concerned with the state of things.

We've been here before, as you all know. Maybe not quite like this; things are always a little different, but also a little too familiar for our tastes. What we'll always have though is our voices, and it's time to use them.

We're no different. Things are in the works. Let's just say we've been "inspired".

In the meantime, here's something less serious to tide you all over for a bit. Way way way back in 2003, when we were a much younger band, we played a McMenamins anniversary show at the Crystal Ballroom here in Portland. Turns out we recorded it too.

Here's a few tracks that came out of that show. You'd have to go way back to the early days when we weren't strangers to playing cover songs in our sets, and would throw in some cool shit from time to time.

So here's 3 cover songs from that show. A song by the great Alejandro Escovedo, a Motown classic, and yeah, a Skynyrd tune.

Check them out at CD Baby, or in the next day or two they should be up at iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc. We hope you dig these.

Keep an eye out for updates. And stick together, fight the good fight, and fuck the bastards who are trying to tear us apart with their bigotry and stupidity.

Oct 17th! Benefit for Eddie Spaghetti of the Supersuckers!

Eddie Spaghetti is one of the best dudes in this business, and he brings it every time whether playing solo or fronting the legendary Supersuckers. But right now he's a bit sidelined from his music, as he's in the process of kickin' cancer's ass!

It only felt right to help in any way we can, so we're throwing this here benefit show to help with the cause. It'll be a night of killer rock and country in dedication to Eddie with some of the best Portland has to offer.

I Can Lick Any Sonofabitch in the House

All proceeds from the show will go to Eddie's cancer fighting fund. You can also donate to it directly here:

Let's show Eddie what he means to everyone around these parts, and raise some cash to help get him back to what he does best as soon as possible!

Recently we posted about the loss of a great friend and a fantastic songwriter, Mark Allen Rodgers (aka Piss Pissedoffherson). Mark inspired and pushed us early on, and his support and encouragement were a big part of what drove us in the early days and through the years.

As a small tribute to him and what he meant to us, we got in our little studio over the last couple of weeks and knocked out this 3 song EP.

The first song, "Piss" is a new one Mike D wrote for Mark after hearing of his passing; "Playing Dumb" is a favorite of ours that Mark wrote and recorded with his band The Devil's Own; and finally, "The Ballad of Mark Allen Rodgers" is a song inspired by Mark, written by our good friends Red Cloud West.

The downloads are free. However, if anyone wants to pay for the downloads, we'll be looking to pass all those proceeds to charity, most likely a music or arts related one here in the Portland area. We have been focused on getting this release out so hadn't gotten quite that far yet, but we're open to suggestions.

We'll also have this available at Spotify, and likely CD Baby, iTunes and the like within the next few days. For now it's available as a free download at Bandcamp:

Please be sure to check out Mark's bands The Devil's Own, Ha! The Disco Ah!, Ribbon Fix, etc. Here's a good start:
